SURRENDER—Psalm 28:7 The past five years I’ve chosen a word and Scripture to be an encouragement and sort of a personal anthem for the year. I truly feel that none have resonated with me quite as strongly as this one. 2020 was most definitely a year of change and difficulty and disruption, to everyone’s usual way of life. It was a perspective changing year in so many different ways, some with tangible changes and some intangible. It was the kind of year that will have a lifelong effect on each of us. For me personally, it was a year filled with some really big, wonderful moments. We found out from one of our daughters that we’ll be grandparents in June...
So often we forget that the Lord is bigger than the burdens in our lives. We forget that He is more powerful than any problem or worry in our heart. We need to remember in the midst of our troubles that He is good and He is loving and He is holding every single moment in His hands..He gives us the strength to endure the difficult moments and hope to endure the heartbreaking ones. He gives joy in our moments of celebration and peace in our moments of chaos and confusion. .He is with you ALWAYS and He is mighty enough to hold the world AND your moments at the same time. We serve an amazing Father who treasures us so...
How often do we stop the busyness and rush of life and truly delight in the Lord? How often do we slow down and find rest in Him? If you’re anything like me, it’s definitely not often enough. If we’re not careful, our commitments and responsibilities and schedules will run our lives and draw us away from Him. Taking time to rest means trusting that the Lord has got your life in His hands. It means taking time to set aside the guilt that may come from what you feel you’re “not doing,” as you rest in Him. It means setting aside the “to do” list and instead spending time in His Word and in prayer. So often we lose sight...
The Lord sees your worries, your fears, your weariness and your weaknesses. He knows the burdens you carry and the heart you have for those placed in your life. He sees the path you’ve walked and He knows the road ahead. He is calling you to come to Him. He’s asking you to lay your burdens at His feet. As you bring each weakness, each weariness, each worry to Him – He will give you strength. A strength to uphold you and a hand to guide you. He is with you, you are His daughter. Praying you feel His love, for He is the One who will make you strong when you are at your weakest. Hold your head high. You...
He is working in your life. He’s working through your trials. He wants your focus on Him, not on what’s happening around you. He has it all handled. He knows your worry and your doubt. He knows your fears and your disappointment. And because He knows all of that, He is encouraging you in ways only He can orchestrate. .I hope you would take a moment today to pray that your heart would be open to seeing Him work. Pray that He would give you eyes to see that He is with you in this. That despite the heartbreak or the frustration, you would be filled with trust and with deep faith. .He will lift you up when you need...
